Prepare your watch for repair

How to pack and ship your watch

A little preparation helps protect your watch in transit and gives us the information we need when it arrives. Start your repair request before shipping, and follow the instructions supplied for your watch.

Gather your packing materials

A soft protective layer, suitable cushioning, a small padded inner container, a sturdy outer shipping box, your repair information, and sealing materials accepted by your chosen shipping service.

Contact us for instructions before packing a watch with loose parts, a damaged battery, or a broken crystal.

Six steps before you ship

  1. Start with your repair request

Complete the online request and use the current shipping instructions provided for your repair. Contact us before sending an international or exceptionally high-value watch.

  2. Photograph and document your watch

Take clear photos of the dial, case back, crown, bracelet or strap, and any existing damage. Note symptoms such as stopping, poor timekeeping, or a damaged crystal. Keep the photos and a record of the items you are sending.

  3. Protect the watch and bracelet

Use a soft, non-abrasive layer and cushioning to protect the watch. Separate the bracelet from the case back so metal surfaces cannot rub together. Avoid pressure on the crown, pushers, or crystal, and never apply tape directly to the watch. Ask us for guidance if the watch has loose parts or a broken crystal.

  4. Cushion an inner container inside a sturdy box

Place the protected watch in a small, padded container, then cushion that container on all sides inside a sturdy outer shipping box. Fill gaps so the contents cannot move during normal handling. Use plain outer packaging. A presentation box or padded envelope alone is not suitable outer protection.

  5. Include your repair information

Include your request confirmation or a note with your name, email, phone number, and the work requested so we can match the watch to your request. Follow any additional instructions supplied for your repair. Keep original ownership documents at home unless specifically requested.

  6. Check the service, seal the box, and retain your receipt

Confirm the shipping service, coverage, and delivery requirements before handing over the package. Follow that service’s packaging and sealing rules and use the destination exactly as supplied. Hand the parcel to an authorized staffed acceptance location and obtain a receipt. Save the tracking number, coverage documentation, and packing photos.

Check coverage before choosing a label

Confirm that the service covers watches at your watch’s full replacement value, including any exclusions, documentation requirements, and delivery conditions. A declared value is not automatically an insurance policy, and coverage is subject to its terms.

For example, FedEx distinguishes declared value from insurance. USPS Registered Mail has specific packaging and sealing requirements. Follow the current requirements of the service you choose.

For international or exceptionally high-value watches, contact us before shipping to discuss arrangements. Use the shipping destination provided with your request.
